VIC Selective Entry Full Mock

BETA

A full 5-section practice simulator of the Victorian Selective Entry High Schools entrance exam, administered by ACER. Covers all three timed components of the real sitting: Mathematics, Numerical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and a 40-minute Writing task.

Before you start

  • Mathematics — 60 questions, 35 minutes.
  • Numerical Reasoning — 50 questions, 25 minutes.
  • Verbal Reasoning — 45 questions, 25 minutes.
  • Reading Comprehension — 50 questions, 30 minutes.
  • Writing — 2 extended-response tasks (one persuasive + one narrative/expository), 20 minutes each within a 40-minute block, matching the real ACER 2026 format.
  • Total — 206 items across 155 minutes of test time, matching the real ACER 2026 specification (Math+QR 60min, Reading+VR 55min, Writing 40min). The real sitting has a 20-min break after the first component and a 5-min break before Writing (≈180 min total clock-time including breaks). Calculators are not allowed.
  • No pausing — once you start, each section's timer runs to its own end.
  • Refresh is safe — your answers and timer are preserved if you reload or lose connection mid-section.

Important disclaimers (BETA)

  • This is a practice simulator. It is not affiliated with ACER or the Victorian Department of Education.
  • Writing section is practice-only. The two 20-minute prompts (1 persuasive + 1 narrative/expository) are delivered and timed; your responses are saved but are not currently auto-graded. Use it for pacing and for self-review against the rubric — automated marking is on the next-round roadmap.
  • 4-option MCQs (A–D). Verified against the official ACER sample papers at selectiveentry.acer.org. Items previously generated with a 5th "None of these" option are filtered out at assembly time so the experience matches the real paper.
  • Verbal Reasoning delivers the full real-exam 45 questions (post-R35 dedup widening). Expect occasional ~44 of 45 graceful-under-fill on rare seeds when the medium-bucket dedup is exactly tight; the system never pads with repeats.
  • Real-exam pacing context: the actual ACER sitting is one day, one venue, three timed components (Math+QR 60 min, Reading+VR 55 min, Writing 40 min), with a 20-min break after the first component and a 5-min break before Writing.
  • Scores are calibrated against synthetic cohort data, not published ACER benchmarks. Your mock score is a useful practice signal, not a guaranteed predictor of your real-exam result.
